The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Well--- if you missed last Thursday’s meeting at the Round Rock Hospital (and there were a lot of You who missed it), you missed one of the better meeting of this year. The hospitality –hosted by Charles Laird – was great, the food was out of this world, and the program and tour of the new expansion was very informative. Debbie Ryle, Administrator and former Rotarian, gave us a Power Point visual on the hospital’s history and its expansion phases since it opened in about 1983. Incidenentally, Scott Evans was the initial Hospital Administrator for the Round Rock Hospital. Debbie also introduced several Doctors who were specialists in their respective fields and and they gave good talks on their departments. Later we were led on a tour of the newest expansion facilities at the Hospital. Thanx go to Debbie and Charles and the Hospital Staff for an interesting meeting.
Thursday, March 23, Charles Colley will bring to us Nancy O’Meara who is with the R.O.C.K. and will talk to us about the Ride On Center for Kids.

Our next big event for the whole club is the Special Olympics on April 1 at the Stadium and Track of Stony Point High School. We have done this project for several years thanks to the hard work of Mike Swayze and have come to know the importance of making it a success every year. If you have not signed up to help, please contact Mike and volunteer to help.

Kara’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the repairman,"Ill leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and ill mail you a check. And "oh , by the way don’t worry about my Bulldog. He wont bother you. BUT, whatever you do, DO NOT, under any circumstances, talk to my Parrot" " I repeat DO NOT TALK TO MY PARROT’------------When the repairman arrived at Karas house the following day, he discovered the biggest, meanest looking Bulldog he had ever seen. But, just as Kara had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the repairman go about his work. -------------The PARROT, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing and name calling.. Finally, the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, SHUT UP, you stupid , ugly BIRD"
To which the PARROT replied,----------------"GET HIM , SPIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Soooooo—til next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
