The Four-Way Test

Of the things we think, say or do:

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Steve Laukhuf brought us another great program last week—He introduced Ron Lowe who is the director of the Andrew Carnegie Training Institute in this area. He discussed Carnegie’s plan to Win Friends and influence people. He asked us to get up on a SeeSaw --- one side had the three C's--- don’t critisize, don’t condemn and don’t complain--- the other side of the seesaw had a large box--- one side of the Box had the word important, another side had a large Ear and I forget what the other side had. Anyhow your CEO's and managers are supposed to balance out the ideas on the See Saw to make your companies run smoother and make more money.
This Week Steve will bring to us Victoria Lippman who is the Execlutive Director of The Round Rock Volunteer Center.
Don’t forget the Board meeting Wednesday morning , June 14 at 7:30 am at the Serving Center on the second level. I think this will be the present Boards last meeting before Landy and his group take over for the next Rotary Year.

And don’t forget the 2nd Annual "If Tea Cups Could Talk " tea tasting which benefits Faith In Action—Round Rock Caregivers. There will be an assortment of Teas, finger foods, and specialty desserts.
This event will be held at Keria Teas. 204 East Main in Downtown Round Rock on Thursday , June 22, 4 to 6 pm. Donation $10.00 with a chance to buy raffle tickets to winprizes worth over $50.00 each. All proceeds go to the Round Rock Caregivers. Call Jeannie a 380-9339 for further info.

Pres Lori wants to remind us of the importance of our attendance at the Pass the Gavel Party on June 29 up at Walburg at the Walburg Restaurant and Biergarten and would like to ask everyone who plans to attend to RSVP Eddies and Debbies E-vite which was sent out last week.

Atty. Doug Cornwell and Doctor Fitzpatric, ( fishing Daddy) were at a party and were trying to talk—but they were constantly interrupted by party goers describing their ailments and asking Doctor Fitzpatrick for free medical advice. After an hour of this, the exasperated Doctor asked Doug----"What do you do to stop people coming to you for free legal advice?" " I give it to them," replied Doug, " and then I send them a bill"-----Doc Fitzpatrick was some shocked but decided to give it a try. The next day, the Doctor prepared the monthly bills. When he went to place them in the mail box to be mailed------HE FOUND A BILL FROM DOUG!

Did you ever wonder?????????

Why someone believes you when you say there are Four Billion Stars , but check when you say the paint is wet?????
Why do they sterilize needles for death by lethal injection?
Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try????
