Of the things we think, say or do:

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?"

Last Thursday, Kathy Sammons presented Assistant Attorney General for the State of Texas Lisa Richardson . Lisa’s Program concerned the Jury System in our State. With a slide show Power Point presentation, she explained the importance of the system in upholding our Constitution and detailed the selection method for jurors and the importance of each citizen serving on Jury Duty when called. Thanx Kathy for an important program!

It is almost time for our helping Lori in moving the Serving Center—Have YOU signed up to help??????

AND--- if you have not SIGNED up to Help on the Special Olympics—PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP MIKE ---- He works hard on this project every year and spends a lot of time planning this event--- He needs all the help we can give!!!!!!!!!

Carol Hearn needs walkers for the Relay For Life at the Dell Diamond-- She especially needs help from 11pm to 7am. There will be a signup sheet at the meeting this Thursday This is for a really important cause!!!!!

The Car thang was a huge success----- we had a good crowd , good food and drink and the –er---uh---"raffle" went off in great style. Mike Swayze, Doak Fling, Will Peckham, Nancy Yawn , and especially the Auctioneer, Ron Morrison moved the process right along and encouraged a lot of bidding for tickets. Sam Holland, Carol Hearn, Eddie Morris, Julie Thomas and (I've left someone out I am sure) all kept the registration going . Fishin' Dad and Dr. Gillory sold out the Penny Drop. Chris Leschber and his crew ( i don’t know all their names) did a great job on the Silent Auction.

Bill Romans and Dale Riklefs were made it to the final ten. I think Bill sold his ticket for a profit and Dale won the 1,000 gallons of gasoline. My Little sister, Carla Willingham came over especially to attend this Thang and was duly impressed and enjoyed the party.
Scott Evans will present the program this Thursday. He will introduce Dr. Sherwood , who will present to us a program on the Bird Flu Pandemic which has been in the recent headlines.
