Last week for our program Fred Daler brought to us a most energetic and entertaining
little lady, Trudy Marshall. Trudy is Director of the organization called
Libraries of Love. They distribute books and set up Libraries all over the
world to children in undeveloped nations. Her main thrust is now in Uganda---
She recruits volunteers to go to those countries and spend at least 2 weeks
assembling and cataloging books, which she had collected here in the States,
actually building the library shelves and tables to store the books. Volunteers
pay their own way and shelter and food is furnished------ cost to a volunteer
is about $2500.00. So, if you are adventurous and want to travel to a foreign
land and help with this worthwhile project--- Call Trudy and sign up!!!!!!!!
Don Hammell who has reallly had a rough time these last few months is now
out of the hospital and is at home. He can be reached at 218-9116 and would
enjoy a call from you.
This from the Chair of the Song Committee----do you have some suggestions of some of your favorite songs which you think our Rotary Club might be interested in trying to sing. We will try to pass around a suggestion sheet at our next meeting and would appreciate your participation---- Sydnah and I will attempt to procure the words and music to your favorite songs furnish those words to you and we will attemp to sing some of them----Ain't that exciting?????????

Two Aggies, Bubba Wayne and Billy Bob,
traveled to Austin for a vacation.
While walking along a busy downtown street, they see a sign in a store window
which reads—"Suits $5.00 each, Shirts $2.00 each and Trousers $2.50
a pair.
Bubba Wayne says, ‘Woo Hoo, Billy Bob! We could buy a whole gob of those
clothes, take em back to Aggieland, sell em to all our friends and make a fortune
for us" Bubba Wayne continues," Now when we go in there, don’t
you say a word, okay? Just let me do the talkin’ cause if they hear your
Aggie accent, they might think we’re ignorant, and they won’t want
to sell them clothes to us. Now, I’ll talk in a slow , fake Texas drawl
so’s they won't know" They go in and Bubba Wayne says with his best
fake Texan Drawl, " I'll take 50 of them thar suits at $5.00 each, 100
of them thar shirts at $2.00 each, and 50 pairs of them thar trousers at $2.50
each. I’ll just back up my pickup and……."
The owner of the shop interrrupts, " Ya’ll are Aggies , aint’cha?"
"Well …. Yeah," says a surprised Bubba Wayne. "How come’d
you know that?
The Owner replies, " Cause this heres a DRY CLEANERS"!!!!!!!
